Yesterday the earth shuck with a 7.8 magnitude of force in Nepal. An earthquake along with about 12 after shocks sent part of the nation into chaos. The capital, Katmandu, is in close proximity to the epicenter of the quake and is experiencing the most damage. Buildings have collapsed to dust leaving people buried or injured; in other places cracking and falling earth have cause harm. So far their are over 1,900 people reported dead and well over 4,500 injured. The quake even caused an avalanche on Mt. Everest that killed climbers. The earthquake has disrupted many parts of the country, along with the people in the country and rebuilding will be tough, but it's the ancient buildings and the torn families that are impossible to regain.
Great natural disasters effect all parts of the world. In American history there is a great number from wildfires, tornados, and hurricanes; among one of there worst disasters in US history is Hurricane Katrina. The hurricane killed over 1,000 people and destroyed homes and businesses, and the damage can still be seen today.
