The Pennsylvania trooper suspect was found inside of an abandoned airplane hangar. Inside, police found a soiled mattress that could have been used by Frein for 48 hours while he was running from the police. The suspect is believed to have been breaking into other abandoned shelters for food and water and he kept himself pretty groomed. He has been trained on wilderness survival and how to hide food, which explains why he was able to evade the police so easily.
The entire manhunt to find him cost $10 million and spanned over 5 states. It has no been released that he was charged with first degree murder and and homicide of a law enforcement officer.
This is an extremely disturbing event and I'm glad they caught this man. this is a perfect example of how some things can't be avoided, but affect us all as a country. I send my condolences to the families affected.

Well, at least they caught him. This reminds me of similar high profile manhunts in American History such as the hunt for John Wilkes Booth or Lee Harvey Oswald.
ReplyDeleteWhile I know it was important to find this man, I think the amount of money they spent on this was ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHow can you relate this to APUSH?
