Easier Visits for the Chinese by Yasmine Bougacha (5th pd)

The hassle of Americans traveling to China and Chinese traveling to America seemed to be never ending. You had to apply or have a  passport , then fill out all the tedious and draining paperwork for a visitors visa (which costs at least a hundred bucks,) and then wait for a reply, and if you're application somehow did not go through, then you would be sent through quite a few obstacles before you can even have permission to go to China or America. But, as of Monday, November 11, 2014, the headache of traveling between the two countries just got a little better.
The United States and China came to a consensus on many things, including extending the term of tourist and business visas from one to 10 years and extending student visas to five years, including round-trip tickets so the people using these visas can visit their loved ones.
The United States is happy about this because now that it is easier for the Chinese to come and visit (or stay if they wish,) the economy is expected get better, receiving more revenue and creating more jobs along the way.
I think it is so great that the two countries put their differences aside and decided to make an agreement with reciprocal benefits. Not only will it create more jobs and improve the economy, it will also make it easier for Americans to visit and/or work in China, which helps to improve their economy as well. Probably the biggest benefit of this whole situation is the eased tensions between China and America and the fact that they are welcoming each others' people into their country with open arms. Especially with all the fighting and turmoil going on right now, it is refreshing to see two of the world's strongest nations cooperate.
