This ongoing debate has brought up the attention of not only our economy but our geography as well. The Keystone pipeline is designed to pump oil all the way from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. With the obvious question of "where is going to go?" has fired up environmentalists to action to stop this project. Obviously with a huge pipeline running straight through our continent you're going to get some angry naturalist. But in the end who is this hurting more? Our country's already deteriorating beauty or our paychecks. Of course with the construction of the pipeline, new jobs will be available for those in the affected areas, but as far as the actual oil, we won't be able to touch it as soon as the pipeline is finished. The oil isn't ours to begin with, it's Canada's. Unfortunately like Bill Gorman once said in the town of Hazard "...I love the mountains. This is my home too. But you can't eat beauty." that was his response to the environmentalist who protested the mines and factories. Although true, it is also very untrue. America is a beautiful country and like many of those who come to America, they come to see the beauty and opportunities that come with it. Tourism is huge in just about every country and to sacrifice revenue that can last centuries, is a stupid trade for one that will only last however so many years for the pipeline to be completed. But in your opinion, do you think the pipeline would hinder or boost America's economy?
