Support for Gun Restriction Shrinks - Veronica Nichols 2nd Period

Even though they have been staying stable amongst independent voters, new polls have shown that among both Democrats and Republicans their support for stricter laws has decreased since the shooting and Sandy Hook elementary school. The biggest drop in support has come from women whose numbers dropped from 69 percent to 55 percent. Although a Washington state ballot with an expansion on background checks looks like it will pass with 64 percent of voters in support after a shooting in the state.
In my opinion this is sort of a shocking thing because of the sheer numbers of shooting s we hear about on the news all the time. I feel like it would be the other way around, when you hear about how a crazy person gets a gun and hurts people with it I would think that people would want to do anything they can to make sure that something like that wouldn't happen again. I do see however why people would want to be sure that the constitution is upheld because the second amendment is the right to bear arms.
