Earlier this week in Alabama, a man named Edward Melvin Henderson was caught having possession of meth as well as other drugs. And it was not a person that caught him, but his own pet dog. Police executed a drug search warrant at his home, and when they found some, Henderson took off towards a wooded area at the back of his home. Investigators told his dog, Bo (a mix of pit bull and husky) to "go get him" and he took off after him. They ran right behind Bo, and eventually caught and arrested him. He was charged with failure to obey the police and multiple other counts. Relatives of Henderson are now taking care of Bo.
This story is very ironic, especially because pets are usually who you trust and care about the most. It also amazes me how a dog's sense of smell and ability to recognize people can potentially change the outcome in a crime scene or rescue operation. Animals are truly amazing.

That's kind of funny. When your own dog sells you out. lol

That's so peculiar that the dog listened to the officers right away and that he immediately chased after his owner like that.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this dog went under some training to obey cops and authority like that? Very odd.
ReplyDeleteIt's like the officers told Bo to "fetch" the meth. I can't imagine Henderson being a good owner because dogs rarely betray their owners without some kind of initiative.
