In southern California, 3 thirteen year old girls were out trick-or-treating on Halloween when they were struck by a speeding car. The girls were on a crosswalk and had the right of way when the car hit. It flung the 3 girls over 100 feet to the side and all 3 were declared dead when the paramedics arrived. The driver of the car parked his car a short distance away and fled on foot with another person, police are still searching for them. Several police have said that it is a tragedy but people must be extremely careful on Halloween when crossing pubic streets, because it is the most dangerous night of the year for pedestrians.
This is truly a tragedy and i am very sad for these young girls whose lives were taken from them on such a happy night. Apparently they were also in costume. I am utterly appalled by the fleeing suspects and know that they must feel pretty bad about the whole thing. You also have to realize how far 100 feet is, most cars are not that long and some buses aren't either so the car had to have been going really fast. Regulation of traffic laws can be a serious issue and the federal government must crack down if they hope to keep these incidents from happening! Just like regulating trade or immigration, traffic must be regulated.
I'm always scared to walk in the streets on Halloween night because of how crazily people drive! It doesn't make sense to me how people drive so chaotically on a dark night with children running around
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of disappointing how reckless people can be especially with something like driving. I hope the drivers are found and the families get the justice that they deserve.
ReplyDeletethis topic put me a little on edge since I can relate so well while I had to take my three younger siblings trick or treating and this situation could have been very possible
ReplyDeleteWell. Goodness gracious where do we begin? I don't understand how someone can be so ignorant and still speed enough to throw 3 girls 100 feet, especially on a night where many many people will be out trick or treating. I really do hope the police find these people as soon as possible for the families and friends affected. And it's so sad that the driver fled the scene. Some people are just careless.
