Huge Fireball Burns Across Texas- Hannah Clifford 5th Period
http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/09/us/texas-fireball/index.html?c=us
On Saturday night, a fireball was seen flying across the Texas skies. Several people posted various accounts of this occurrence on social media. NASA scientists say that this meteorite that was brighter than a full moon could have been a part of the North Taurid meteor shower or from the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The Maverick county sheriff's department reported that the ground shook as the meteorite landed around 8:45 on Saturday night.
This was written by Catherine E. Shoichet and Ben Brumfield for CNN to report the odd happenings in the night sky. I've seen meteor showers before, but never something this intense. It's always exciting to see what nature can throw at us and it keeps the wonder in the world to experience events like this one. I'm sorry that I missed it, but to see a giant fireball in the sky must be amazing.

Whoa, that's intense! I wish I could've seen it as well!
ReplyDeleteI also wish I could have seen it! Why did it come crash into Earth though?
