Pictured here on Tuesday morning, October 28, lava had crossed into two privately owned properties.

One of Hawaii's many volcanoes, Kilauea, has been active since 1983. Today, its lava engulfed its first home. The residents of the home had long evacuated with all of their belongings. There is nothing that residents of the surrounding area can do about the 2,000 degree Fahrenheit river. The lava has been slowly engrossing upon the town since June 27th. Its difficult for residents since its a stop and go phenomenon. Officials say there are no other homes nearby in danger. The proposed plan by officials is to just watch and warn residents.

I think that mother nature is at work and the people who decided to reside there knew what they were in for. Hawaii's Civil Defense Agency is on it, and paying for relocation. As long as their watching it and warning residents early, it seems like their doing all that hey can. The volcano has been oozing for 31 years now so it truly is a stop and go process.
