Fireball lit up Texas sky, NASA says
By Jessica Sheinfeld
A fireball was seen flying across the Texas skies on Saturday evening. Several people saw it and posted about it on social media. This meteorite was brighter than a full moon. NASA scientists say that this meteorite could have been a part of the North Taurid meteor shower or from the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The Maverick county sheriff's department reported that the ground shook as the meteorite landed around 8:45 on Saturday night.
I'm so bummed I missed this! I didn't even hear about it until I saw this article. I think that's amazing though I bet it was awesome and beautiful.

I wish I would've been able to see it! I wonder where the meteorite ended up landing...
ReplyDeleteI was at FunFunFunFest in Austin when this happened and apparently there's footage of it happening right next to a concert I was watching. I completely missed it and I'm so upset. -Azra
