A school district in Louisiana begins to question some of its customs, which have allegedly violated 1st amendment rights. The case sparked frustration throughout the town of Webster Parish, a town heavily influenced by Christianity. This effects my understanding of the article because I myself am a Christian and can understand the viewpoint of the small town. This article was written to show how religion can be questioned and taken away from the government. This article leaves a positive affect on the audience since its a cause for freedom of religion, which leads into the importance of the article. This article can relate towards the Pilgrims and their escape to the Americas for freedom of religion.
