Why it was so hard to put out: Zoe Williams

The fire in the Notre Dame cathedral caused a large amount of damage, but why?  Firefighters say it's because the wooden beams holding up the building were trapped inside basically a brick oven of walls and roofing, and the height of the building field the fire with lots of oxygen.

Instead of focusing on the tragity of the incident, I think it is important to look at the ways we can help avoid this sort of disaster in the future.  Before this disaster I actually had no idea what Notre Dame was.  I knew it existed but i wasn`t due what it actually was.  This story can be related to the recent first fires in Califirnia.  It compares problems in other countries to problems in America.  It shows the similarities and differences.
