A Texas couple from Guinea had been found guilty of harboring an alien and abuse.  Their 16-year-old slave from Guinea was able to provide enough evidence to testify against the couple.  She was forced to clean and do cores for them without a bed, education, or pay.  She was also a victim of abuse.

This story caught my eye because it happened so close to home.  We always see stories about crimes in other places and it is very easy to start to identify them by their problems.  I knew that human trafficking was still a problem, but I wasn`t aware of its presence in the states.  This event shows the difference between human trafficking during the Atlantic slave trade and now.
