Weighted Blankets - Maria Golici

From High school and further sleep becomes less of a necessity and more a distant memory. With the constant battle to fight the clock and the spikes of stress and anxiety its hard to find a calm mind and fall straight asleep. A college student who was interviewed by CBS News told them that when she is super stressed she would wrap the blanket around her and she said that is felt like a never-ending hug and that helped reduce her stress. The blankets can weigh up to 30 pounds and are filled with weighted beads or pellets. There aren't any big experiments or real research to the benefits with the blankets but scientists see no harm in them. Just to be cautious of the size and weight of the blanket to children. For adults that have any lung diseases or neuromuscular chest wall disorder just aware and use at your discretion.

This article was written on February 18 at 4:03 PM. The weighted blankets are quite expensive. They are ranged from $100 - $160. I recommend these blankets if you need some help to fall asleep which is all of us high school kids.

  1. Not going to lie this is kind of weird but it could be cool I guess.

  2. This is a wonderful idea but the blankets may also promote sleeping in class or randomly around school.
