In Hesperia (San Bernardino District, California), rescuers and wildlife workers at the Department of Wildlife Conservation helped a young mountain lion stuck in a tree to descend to the ground.
We know stories about cats that managed to climb a tall tree, but were unable to get out of there on their own. This cougar has proven that she is still a cat, although very large.
According to Jeff Allen, captain of the San Bernardino Fire Service, on Saturday, February 16, they received a call from a resident of Hesperia. A man told me that he had found a puma on a site, on a tree about 50 feet high (15 meters). The animal obviously could not descend.
The plot was cordoned off and began to develop a plan to remove her from the tree. Puma was put to sleep with a tranquilizer, shot with a dart, and lowered to the ground. The vet said she was fine.
As soon as the animal woke up, it was released back into the wild.
I always loved to watch tv shows where people trying to help animals, because it is the only way I could calm myself with thinking that at least someone still remember how it is important to help animals. Very often animals die because of humans, and every year it gets harder for them not to get into a danger. Because as years go by, more dangerous technology people develop, that can cause problem for animals.
But even in this case a cat got into trouble just because of a tree, it is still good to see how people care.
