The governor of Virginia in an interview recently referred to slaves as "indentured servants" trying to say slavery in "a nicer way". Later a politically active Virginia voter was asked what he thought of this incident and he replied "it was a bad choice of words" and said he was simply trying to make Virginians feel more at ease.
