A new company called Zero Mass Water that is stationed in Scottsdale, Arizona is pulling water out of the air using solar-powered rooftop panels. It uses the solar power from the panels to pull the H2O out of the air, distill and clean it, and all while using only completely renewable energy. This is extremely important because it could solve the clean water epidemic that is sweeping the world, especially in third world countries. This company also has research that says that by 2025, half the world population will live in areas with no clean water source, and no way to get it. Every year, around 3.4 million people per year die from water-related diseases around the world. This new invention could dramatically decrease this number.
This relates to history because all through time, people have died due to water related diseases that are totally preventable. Although it can be difficult to distribute supplies to isolated locations, it is possible. The audience is anyone who believes that clean water is important, which should be the entire world. The point of view is CNN Business, who views this project as a business and not and important invention. The purpose of this article is to inform and possibly persuade readers. This is important because it could save millions of lives!
This is absolutely insane, the world is constantly changing and people only care about money.

DeleteOne thing about this project that concerns me is awareness. The company probably wont be able to create marketing that reaches the areas that may need it most due to isolation and lack of technology.
ReplyDeleteI find this idea almost too good to be true. I'd like to read up on how they would turn this air into water because if they find an efficient and effective way to do it, this project could change the world, almost literally. I think its also great how its support is through helping people across nations who don't have any clean water in their neighborhoods. - Joziah German
