Former democratic president Barrack Obama attended and spoke at Republican John McCain's funeral this past week. Obama, who ran against McCain in the 2008 election, spoke highly of the former citing their friendship they had while Obama was in office.
Obama and McCain were a rare example of bipartisanship in the modern age. Their friendship was reminiscent of the bipartisanship found in the early days of the United States where compromises were common between parties when they were set on a common goal.
