On the 25th of August, Senator John McCain passed away at 81 years old. His memorial service took place at the National Cathedral on Sunday the 1st of September. Among the speakers at his funeral were former presidents Barrack Obama and George W. Bush. During his time speaking at the funeral of war hero McCain, Obama touched on the late McCain’s efforts to distance the nation from, “mean and petty politics”. The former president’s words at the National Cathedral showed the duty the government and American people have to better the nation. “John called on us to be bigger than that. He called on us to be better than that.” The, “that” being the aggressive pettiness surrounding the world of politics McCain was involved in until his death last week.
Published on the 1st of September, the article does not directly target a specific party or a specific person on capitol hill who is at the center of the “mean and petty politics” the American people see on an everyday basis from both sides of the political playing field, but the government as a whole. Even after death, an often controversial John McCain beliefs call for an end to the often ridiculous behavior of from those running the country from both of the parties.
