Trans Teen Sues School, Wins -Bakari Williams

Analysis: In the referenced article, it explains the events of an 18 year old student by the name of Lily Madigan which occured last year because of the school's descrimination of her. Late last school year she showed up to St. Simon Stock Catholic school in the female uniform and was sent to the principles office. Teachers also refused to call her Lily and said they would only call her by Liam, her name given at birth, even though she legally had already had her name changed. Over the summer she hired a lawyer and pursued the case in which they proved the school was breaking its own policy of diversity and equality.

Synthesis: This is relatable to the Anit-Federalists at the late stages of the 18th century. They wanted a new country to be run a different way but, once they shifted their position on how they viewed the governing document of the country (The Constituion), they were persecuted by the others that were already in power but, in the end they were appeased because they're stance was being prosecuted on terms that were in fact in some ways unconstituional.

  1. It makes me happy that people are having better luck in suing against things of this nature. It proves that there is hope for the future of the trans community. The school's treatment of her was totally unjust and they deserve what they got.
