Former Olympian, Tyson Gay, has recently lost his daughter to a gun violence murder. His daughter's killing resulted in the arresting of two men, a father and son. The two men, Chazerae Taylor,18, and D'markeo Taylor were seen shooting at each others cars outside of a restaurant in a parking lot. The shooting was around 4:00 in the morning, and his daughter, Trinity, was shot. She was rushed to the University of Kentucky hospital, where she was then marked officially dead. Tyson describes the death as confusing and shocking. He remembers upon his daughter being with him just last week for fall break, but now she's gone. This relates back to history in regards to violence. Violence has been an issue for as long as history has been around. Violence has been the go-to solution for any conflict. The British settlers committed an abundance of violence towards the Native Americans on the land that they wanted. Violence is an ongoing conflict, and needs to be properly, and safely replaced. People like Trinity should not have to lose their lives because of an immature handling of an issue.
Violence is going to happen in the world no matter what. We can't stop it, but what we can change is how we react to it and how that affects our lives.
ReplyDeleteGun violence definitely isn't a current issue although lately its been getting more attention. I really think America is in a serious issue with gun violence and that we need to have more restrictions so events like this are avoided.

ReplyDeleteViolence will forever be here but there is something called controlling. We can control the way we react which will prevent a worst outcome
