Summary: This article talks about some reasons why we can actually thank Donald Trump. When talking about Donald Trump's "rise to the top of the Republican ticket" It says that "It has sparked a national conversation about sexual violence that includes some genuinely feminist perspectives." It says that while Donald hasn't exactly been the model Presidential candidate, or person, for that matter, the incidents surrounding him have brought some very important attention to some very important topics, relating to women and feminism. The article quotes a couple show hosts who were disgusted by the most recent video exposing Donald, the 2005 video where he can be seen saying atrocious and disgusting things about women.
Analysis/Synthesis: Ok I admit when I first read the title of the article I was like wtf could you ever thank Donald for?? But then I actually understood what the article was saying and I kind of agreed with it, and i felt pride towards the way it showcased how other people were responding to Trump and defending women. This can be connected to the feminist movement in the 1980's/.

I see where you're coming from, but I find it hard to see the positive when he says hateful things about women. It's important to bring these issues to light, but there are better ways to do it than this I think.
ReplyDeleteI understand what the article is saying, and I agree that it is raising awareness for issues in our country, but I don't like the way Trump is talking about women in any way. I'm glad that someone has found something positive about the awful things he said.
