Anna Wehrmann, Period 7
In Melbourne, Australia, 51 senior center workers won the lottery for $1.44 million dollars. They are splitting it between them selves, leaving each participant with a good $28,000. These people are very grateful for this, as they each contributed only $1.50. Many of the people are planning a vacation, or getting cars. This is a very beneficial, though small scale, article because it shows how people can have an amazing capacity for kindness and sharing, a quality our current world desparatly needs right now. This very much resembles the native american potlatch, as everyone contributes some small part, and everyone gets more for it. http://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2016/09/05/51-Australian-nursing-home-employees-share-in-144M-lottery-jackpot/1061473095788/?spt=sec&or=on
