All They Want is Freedom- Skyler Tepedino

Summary: There are 118,000 people trying to flee Libya to Italy just to get away from the killing and oppressive conditions. The Nigerians want freedom and a safe environment for their families. ISIS has grown and caused unnecessary violence and stress to those who are natives as well as those who have sought refuge in Libya from neighboring Nigeria. From the youngest person, to the oldest man, they all have guns. Fear of being kidnapped or shot keeps innocent people up at night. The journey to Italy is treacherous. The journey consists of hundreds of miles of walking and sailing; they have a 50% chance of actually arriving in Italy safely. Because of previous issues with entering Greece, Italy became the next viable option for refugees. In just one year there were 3,000 people lost at sea or perished. The Nigerian people are coming very quickly in unexpected amounts and Italy is running out of room. A quarter of a million people are waiting to leave Libya and travel to Europe. "A reminder, perhaps, that this crisis isn't going to go away anytime soon."

Analysis: The main reason this article was written is to inform us of what is going on in the world. I think it is so sad that the world can't get along. Where did the love go in this world, it is so horrible that people have to sacrifice so much just to find shelter and food. People need to realize that if they keep hurting people it won't make any situation better or help them in the long run. 

Synthesis: This article reminds me of when the pilgrims immigrated to the 

New World, and what they had to do to come here and what they had to go through. Most of the pilgrims didn't make it only because of hard trouble at sea or disease. To me they are similar only because of the voyage and that people died trying.
