Justice Antonin Scalia dead at 79 By: Luis Ceja

On saturday febuary 13th supreme court justice Antonin Scalia passed away at a ranch in shafter, texas. Antonin scalia was the most conservative judge on the supreme court and his death puts the countries courts at a cross roads. Even within hours after news broke about his death and everyone had issued there statements it became the most heated debate in politics and re-alerted many to the impact of the next supreme court justice. This death has brought us back to the battle between the white house and congress but has now dragged in the supreme court an institution that is supposed to be the one who distance them selves from the politics of washington. Unfortunately it's been very ugly. Why though cause no other supreme court judges would have such an impact on politics. IT's not just because of his conservative record but because he's the one that resorts to politicizing things and at face value represents the serious problem of racism and anti-semetics plaguing the party. Before donald trump was the face of the hate speech side of the GOP it was Antonin Scalia. I won't go into detail about his hateful rhetoric towards gays or his insistence that the civil rights act harmed american democracy and was voting welfare for blacks. He represents every modern stereotype of the post-obama election GOP in the pre-obama time. So it was interesting to see how the gop canidates going to remember antonin scalia I under stand there going to remember him but this is a chance for them to not appear as the racist they have come to know but they show no dignity and they all praise the man that's fought to end civil rights. This sets up the contentous debate in the senate over the presidents appointment and the next presidents possible 3 appointments to the supreme court this is a sign of a shift and we'll see if they reject and delay it or let the change happen
