The Zika virus in the United States is almost as contagious as the Ebola virus in West Africa. President Barack Obama asked Congress for $1.9 billion to help fund The department of Health and Human Services and other disease controlling agencies to stop the spread of the disease. Republicans on Capitol Hill and the White House both suggested the unspent funds from fighting the Ebola epidemic should be used to fight Zika since it's so costly. No matter how up to date a nation is in medication, a virus and epidemic can still spread.
During the Progressive Era many immigrants got really sick and died because the living and work conditions were so unsanitary. When people found out about this, different organizations like health and human services health take care of these problems to save lives. This is important because Health and Human Services has been very important to the well being of Americans and many other people.
