Taylor Swift Donates $250k in Support of Kesha's Defeat in Court - Emily Rosuck pd 4

We all know about Kesha's recent court case where she was defeated by her producer Dr. Luke in trying to get out of her contract with Sony music due to alleged accusations against him for verbal, physical, and sexual abuse over the past decade. Since she's been in this lawsuit, she hasn't been able to put out new music since October 2014 and the hope was that this court ruling would get her out of her contract so she could make music with people she wasn't afraid to work for. The final ruling did not allow her to leave her contract, and therefore she is forced to make 6 more albums with Sony music before she's allowed to leave. You should be furious.
Kesha has gotten much positive outreach from fans and celebrities, such as Lady Gaga, Lorde, and Demi Lovato. But recently one star in particular has gone above and beyond in protection of her lady squad. Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with her financial situations in this "trying time." This was recently after Demi Lovato was trashing Tay on twitter about how she, a "self proclaimed feminist" has done nothing to speak out for Kesha. Well, take that, Demi.
The entire music industry and court system in America should be ashamed of themselves. America is a country which is developed and civilized enough to be able to know that they should choose a women's health and safety over profit money from big businesses and corporations. The fact that Kesha is being literally forced to work in an environment where she fears for her safety and well-being is a shame on the entire industry. America is supposed to be a model of equality and problem solving and this is an example of how big corporations have entirely corrupted the justice system. Large industries have been oppressing the rights of women through alliances with each other and through members of the justice system, forcing women to feel the need to be silent. The fact that Kesha was defeated sends the message that even when you speak out, you might not get heard, or even worse, the justice system will force you back into the same place you were in.

  1. I love Taylor Swift and hearing this makes me love her even more. I'm so glad she stepped out to help Kesha during this awful situation, and I am also so ashamed with our legal system for letting her producer get away with this.

The legality and strictness of a record deal are ridiculous. Kesha should be able to walk out any time she wants music in hand because it is her right to. Way to go to Taylor Swift for sticking it to the man and helping a sista out.
