India caste unrest // Kai Jones 1st period

The caste system in India is still a great influence in politics of the region.  in this article an angry caste group has destroyed one of the main sources of water for the city of Delhi. Millions of people are having to live without running water. The government is doing its best in terms of providing water to citizens. The angry group destroyed a canal that provided water to much of the city. the army has taken control of most of the canal and they are trying to repair it as quickly as they can.

Groups have tried to get the governments attention in extreme ways before. In U.S history, events such as The Boston Tea party was a way to get the attention of the government. The Boston Tea party made England pay more attention to the colonies though it may not have been the kind of attention they wanted. In Delhi's case, the matter is much more serious. Water is a vital part of human life and the people of Delhi are having to find a way to survive without it.
