Solar rates debate in nevada By: Luis Ceja
After state and federal incentives were put into law in the state of Nevada. Solar panels were being installed at record amounts. Now though there is debating over the pricing of the solar energy and a specific thing called "net metering". This would mean that homeowners who had leftover energy from there solar panel would get payed to put it back into the electrical grid. Being subsidized for the energy they produce. Since they are also producing there own solar power energy prices are dropping. This of course worries companies cause it digs into their profit. There is also a liability to be looked at. They are concerned about people who might pay what there supposed to. So now new set's of regulations are being debated. It has become quiet contested though between energy companies there and consumers. So hopefully they can come to a reasonable resolve and address the issue. Especially on something I don't think should be so polarizing. Of course the sad thing is like many issues it has become polarizing and people.
