Jillian Linnear P.8 | Ex-Saints player Will Smith shot

A couple of nights ago former Saints player, Will Smith and his wife, Racquel Smith were shot. Prior to the shooting the couple were out in New Orleans celebrating and were then seen at dinner with former another former Saints player and a sports agent. The manager of the restaurant they were at said they had a fine time and left at eleven fifteen, a little bit before the restaurant closed. They were seen leaving the restaurant following their friends to another location when at a five way intersection they were hit in the back of their car by a hummer, causing them to hit their friends in front of them. Smith and the driver exchanged some choice words before the other driver pulled out a gun and proceeded to shoot Smith several times and his wife once in the leg. A woman staying in a nearby hotel heard the commotion and came out to see the Mrs. Smith shot in the leg, reports say they both prayed together before the ambulance got there. Mrs. Smith survived the shooting but her husband died at the scene, leaving behind three children. This article truly is significant to the football community especially, the Saint's community because a former teammate was lost as well as a friend. This article is relevant to not only the football community but to everyone because it shows us how quickly a life can be lost over an incident that could've been solved in a civilized manner.
