summery: The Governor of Ohio signed a bill to defund all organizations that promote or preform abortions, which includes Planned Parenthood. This is an issue because the state's funding would've also been going to things such as HIV testing, Health Screenings, and prevention of violence against women. Planned Parenthood is very upset about this, and soon, so will many women in Ohio. This is counter-productive to Kasich's beliefs as well because part of his campaign is helping expecting mothers and new born babies, which planned parenthood specializes in.
Analysis: This is a very counter-productive step in what seems to be like a very progressive time. Lots of women are suffering because of laws like this. Women are being very much punished by the government, with decisions that are being made by men, who really have no business making decisions for what women should and shouldnt be allowed to do. 1st, men cannot have babies and cannot get pregnant, so they should not have the right to speak for a woman when it comes to her abortion rights, and healthcare rights. 2nd, Women are suffering with court cases dealing with violence and sexual abuse, which planned parenthood would be able to help, but it is dealing with all of these funding issues. I'm just tired of seeing people like Kesha being forced to work with her abuser, and organizations like planned parenthood being defunded, all being done by men who have no empathy or understanding of what theyre even doing.
