Bear Attack in California-Julian Smith 6th

        Last week Emily Miles of Carpinteria, California enocountered and angry black bear. She was on her daily walk on an avocado close to her home. Contently strolling through the ranch she was startled when her dogs came darting out of a bush followed by a raging black bear. She said when she saw it she instantly knew it could kill her. The bear charged her and scratched her back multiple times with its big bear claws. The woman fought back and then started to run and then things got more serious. the bear tackled her and bit into the back of her thigh, Emily said even when she was pinned on the ground by the bear she continued to fight and was screaming and kicking her legs. Apparently this worked and the bear slowly walked away. Emily managed to get to a friends home and was taken to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. The state department of fish and wild life is on the case trying to catch the bear. Emily says she hopes the bear will not have to be euthinized if it is not rabid or sick,

She just feels that this is natures way.
