A 16 year old boy allegedly brought a bomb to school in St.Helens Oregon two days ago. He showed his friends the bomb and told them he made it. His friends then told the school officials and they called the police. Everyone was evacuated from the school and went to a nearby elementary school. The boy didn't have intentions of "blowing" up the school or causing harm to anyone, he just kinda wanted everyone to know he made it. After the bomb squad found the bomb in his locker they let the students come back to school but most just went home. The student is now facing several felony charges and is scheduled to face a judge on Monday. We will soon see what the consequencess the boy will face for his actions. I believe he doesn't deserve a severe punishment because he didn't have ill intentions but he does deserve some kind of punishment because he could have hurt someone. This also leads me to question how easy it was for him to bring the bomb to school in the first place. If he wanted to kill someone with that bomb he could've easily done it. Does the school not have metal detectors or someone to check your bag before you enter school? They need to enforce some way of makeing sure things that can cause harm to others aren't easy to bring to school.

I think he deserves some type of punishment, maybe not juvi/jail or anything He was still wrong for bringing the bomb to school and putting people in danger. -Avery Alexander
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, he deserves the consequences. He should've known better.
