Firefighter, Capt. Tony Grider, died weekend after an ALS ice bucket challenge went horribly wrong. He and a few other firefighters were up in the fire truck's bucket when they sprayed water down on some college students for the charity challenge. As they sprayed the water, a power line arched electricity over towards the metal bucket holding the fighters up. Grider was the only one mortally effected by this accident. The other fire fighters were not nearly as impacted.
It's sad to hear about these ice bucket challenges that turn out horribly wrong. For a cause such as ALS, it's always disappointing when these challenges go from positive to depressing. As professionals, we assume that they knew what they were doing but, as we can see, even professionals slip up and have to pay the price.
Aw man! That's terrible! It sucks when someone is trying to do something good and an accident happens:(
