White House Intruder Found With 800 Rounds of Ammo- Kennedi Mayes

After detaining the homeless U.S. veteran who breached outside White House security on Friday, government officials found 800 rounds of ammunition, a sniper rifle, a machete, and two hatchets distributed between Omar Gonzalez and his car. Gonzalez had already been convicted recently in July near Virginia for eluding arrest and possessing a sawed off shotgun. In that encounter, police found a map with the White house and a Masonic temple circled stuffed into a Bible. In August, Gonzalez was also stopped in front of the White House with a hatchet in the rear of his waist band. Obama was shaken by the whole incident because his family lives in the White House; he was grateful that Secret Services where doing their job and keeping the area safe.

This occurrence is so crazy! Why would a U.S. veteran turn against the country and attempt to harm our president and people running the country? I'm so grateful for security being able to stop him, and I hope they get him mental help. I can't help but be forced to wonder how many other people need to be locked up with him because they are hazards to the country.

  2. Sometimes being through war can do a lot of damage to a human's mind and sanity. I hope this doesn't happen again.

  3. It makes me wonder what could have happened to him to push him to do such a thing? Also what could have prevented this? I think we need to take better care of veterans after they return from war. To me this was caused by some experience he had during the war.

  4. I wonder what motivated him to go to the White House with these weapons. It's scary to think that the White House could have been under attack by one of our country's veterans.
