A 6 year old passed away this week, but he lives on in the lives of many people. A woman at the age of 52 was on her deathbed and her family believed she didn't have much time, but due to a liver transplant from this boy she is on her way to full recovery. In addition to this donation, 5 other people got other vital organs and 2 people received his corneas. Although a tragic end to a life ended so early, the family has found great solace in the fact that their boy lives on in the lives of so many people. Donating organs has long been a controversial subject, but hopefully this calls attention to the good it can do for people.
Something similar happened to a girl from my Church. She died in 8th grade when we were in 6th, and it was an accident but she let 5 other people live since she was a healthy girl. It makes me so sad to know that a young one died, but at the same time it's a miracle that they could save others.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that one life could save so many more. This is an amazing thing, that science has evolved to do something as amazing as this.
