More Than 700 Infants Exposed to TB at Texas Hospital - Corsica Steding

706 infants and 43 health workers were recently exposed to tuberculosis at a hospital in El Paso, Texas.  It's not confirmed whether or not any of those exposed have tested positively for the disease.  Tuberculosis is a very infectious disease that typically causes coughing, difficulty breathing, and chest pain.  The danger lies in the fact that so many infants were exposed to the disease, which has the capability to be fatal to the infants.

Jacque Wilson wrote this article for CNN on September 22nd.  Before reading this article, I hadn't heard of so many infants being exposed to such a disease.  This article was written to inform anyone who might be interested in the event or the details of how infectious the disease can be.  It was also written as a warning of how dangerous it can be if anyone is exposed to it, especially infants. I sincerely hope that the poor infants and workers that were exposed to TB don't test positively for the disease.

  1. I wonder how the hospital let all of those people be exposed to this. It is crazy how easily disease can get to someone. I hope everyone is ok.

  2. It shocks me of how unsanitary a hospital can be especially dealing with such a large number of people who are already at risk. Hopefully, no infants or others are infected.
