Obama plans rebel aid with Syria strikes, senators say - Ed Kumar '1st

Summary:
Obama's plans  against Syria may include  support for the rebel forces there, says two senators after meeting with him on monday. Obama met in the Oval Office with senators  and both members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. After the meeting, Senator McCain said the United States needs to help the rebels defeat the troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The United States and several of its leading allies accuse al-Assad's forces of resorting to poison gas attacks against rebel forces and civilians. Obama said he would seek the authorization of Congress before unleashing American force.
The U.S. seeks partners for Syria strikes, Obama stated that he preferred multilateral action but added, "It is not in the national security interest of the United States to ignore clear violations of these kinds of international norms." referring to the act made in world war I against chemical warfare. Some countries are deciding not to side with us due to their agreements with other countries. Although some countries are still deciding on what to do, Russia, China, and Iran are sticking by Syria.

Analysis:
I see this whole thing just a part of politics. If obama does decide to give more aid to the rebels, or worse, deploy troops, this will just be Afghanistan all over again. More than likely, it is all talk and america will hopefully not intervene with the conflict. On the otherhand, america could be involved and this could end up to be another conspiracy. The sources of the poisonous gas attacks are unclear and could have very well have been from another unexpecting source. I feel as if this is just another conflict the United States should stay out of, but as a modern leader, america will probably have to take part in this middle eastern revolution.

I totally agree with you on this just be apart of politics. Though my heart goes out to the families of those killed by chemical warfare in Syria, when not in a raging civil war, Syrians are against the United States and other Western countries. However, now that there are mass murders of its people, they fill the American government should intervene? That's two-faced and undeserving of American aid. But of course, as you and me both know, the United States being "The United States", will indeed step in and get involved in yet another foreign issue. Are they not aware of the domestic problems here?
