Summary: Recently Prabhjot Singh, a professor at Columbia University, was ambushed and brutally beaten near central park by a group of 12-15 men. During the beating the men were saying anti-Muslim slurs like "get Osama" and "terrorist." Singh, who ironically isn't even Muslim, is apart of the Sikh coalition and has even co-written a 2012 op-ed for The New York Times about anti-Sikh violence and discrimination.
Prabhjot is not the only Sikh that has been the target of a misdirected hate crime, there have been more than 700 attacks on Sikhs since 9/11.
(Sikh: a monotheistic religion, started in India and the 5th most popular religion in the world with about 700,00 in the United States)
Analysis: This is the third current event that I've done about racism, so there is obviously a big problem in America. It sickens me that a whole group of people have been being punished for a couple of radicals' bad decision over 10 years ago. This has to stop.
