Ok so I read this story about how this Disney guy accidently stumbled upon a certain discovery while assisting a student with a project. The discovery? Oh he found out that the picture that was identified as Abraham Lincoln right before the Gettysburg adress was not Lincoln at all. In faact it was just some random guy riding a horse saluting soldiers (a gesture which wasn't taken up by presidents until a hundred years later with Reagan) with a beard and tall hat. So you're telling me that wasn't Lincoln!? Well where the heck was he? He was actually a couple yards over standing (on the ground) near his secretary of state. How do I feel about this? Well it's not so fascinating to me. I mean why does it matter if it was Lincoln, we know it was him saying the speech (right?). Well I thought it was interesting that so many other people found it interesting! It's great to see the different things people take up. The Disney guy that discovered the real Lincoln admitted to being a "lifelong 'Lincoln freak'". Crazy huh? People around this world find so many different things to idolize or research or even devote their lives to. And I say HEY...do what makes you happy, as long as you know what it is you're idolizing or whatever. Which is I guess the explanation to why the pertinance of this discovery was so popular.

Wow. It's interesting how we always find things that show us we don't know what we thought we knew.
