Leslie Kelly: Suburban Dallas cop helps deliver surprise baby
Okay, I know this article is kinda skimpy but I really wanted to talk about it because I just think this is so cool. So, a few days ago in Carrollton, a police officer was beckoned to investigate an emergency, and upon entering the house in danger was surprised to find that the emergency didn't involve violence but new life. He ended up helping to deliver the baby himself and now the baby and mother are safe in a local hospital. This is a pretty small story, what with our world of heated debates, war, and social justice issues, but it's so lovely to know that nice things happen too, don't you think? To the fast-paced world, this is indeed a tiny story of little consequence, but to the people involved it was probably life-changing, and thinking about that helps to remind me that at the very core of our beings, we humans are caring and all capable of selfless heroism.
Ugh sorry for getting all rosy and idealistic.
Okay here's the itty bitty article.
