iBot making comeback! / Isabella Montague 5th period

Over a decade ago, Dean Kamen invented the iBot, which is an advanced wheelchair of sorts. The wheelchair is impressive in being able to go up and down stairs, raise the person on the wheelchair to eye level of a person standing up, and smoothly roll across a bumpy surface. Since then, the iBot has been neglected of attention until recently, when Dean Kamen paired up with Toyota to bring back the iBot and improve it wth all of the new technologies of today's modern society.

This is awesome! I think it is very cool that this machine can have the power to give people with disabilities more freedom and opportunity. This first came out during the Clinton administration, and there is actually a picture of President Clinton, Dean Kamen, and the iBot in the Oval Office. This type of chair would have been very beneficial to FDR, who was in a wheelchair after being diagnosed with infantile paralysis when he was 39.
