Former Gov. Bill Weld to challenge President Donald Trump for 2020 GOP nomination - Dillon Quicksall

Bill Weld, an independent, is challenging Donald Trump for the presidency in the 2020 election. He plans to rival him for the GOP nomination within his own party. This means that Trump is not running unopposed in his own party and, theoretically, might not even make it past the primaries. However, this is highly unlikely, as Trump has far more support that Weld does and is much more well-known. Bill Weld opposes him mainly on the issue of climate change, which he says can no longer go unaddressed.
This reminds me of the political turmoil of the 60s because of how inflamatory the Trump Campaign has been.

  1. Emma Burkey: For the sake of the country, I hope that Trump doesn't make it past the primaries, however, as you said, it is highly unlikely.

  2. As much as I want this guy to win, I believe he will lose the challenge against Trump.

  3. I think it is highly unlikely but there’s always a possibility so we have to be careful.
