The Burmese python is one of the biggest snakes in the world. Recently, the snake found, even by python standards, was ginormous. Scientists discovered a female python in the Florida Everglades that measured to be more than 17 feet long, with a weight of 140 pounds, and 73 developing eggs. The female snake is the largest python ever to be removed from Big Cypress National Preserve, a 729,000-acre area of swampland in West Miami in South Florida. With pythons ranging in all sizes have been found in the Everglades, most of them are between 6 and 10 feet long.
