A Bombing in Sri Lanka Has Left Hundreds Dead or Wounded- Gabriel Allen

Monday: What We Know So Far About the Sri Lanka Bombings
By Bryant Rousseau

A devastating event just took place in Sri Lanka. Attacks by suicide bombers on Sunday in Sri Lanka murdered over 290 people and wounded about 500 more. The murder victims came from over eight different countries and included worshipers at Easter Sunday services at three different churches. These churches were targeted by suicide bombers. So far, the information on the terrorists is limited. However, the police are looking into the radical Islamist group called the National Thowheeth Jama’ath who carried out the tragic attacks on the churches. It is believed that they had help from international militants. Sri Lanka discovered the group of terrorists by the action they took when the bombings took place. Just hours after the churches were bombed, the authorities arrested at least 24 suspects. These precautions were very smart because if they hadn’t arrested all of these people, who knows how far the National Thowheeth Jama’ath was planning to take things.

It is crazy to know that we live in a world where people can't seem to even enjoy a holiday in peace because people don't accept other peoples religions. People have to live in fear of expressing what they believe in or think because there are people who would go as far as to killing someone else just because of their personal beliefs. This just comes to show that we haven't really progressed as to accepting other peoples religions. We've gotten better at it but yet there is still a big amount of people who don't think that way.
