Man dies in Border Patrol custody- Fiona Graybill

Upon his arrival, the unnamed 45 year old man detained while crossing the US- Mexico border, requested medical attention. He was admitted into medical care to then be released and then placed back in. He died earlier today at the McAllen Medical Center whole still under the care Customs and Border Patrol. Andrew Meehan, Assistant Commissioner for Public Affairs, was quick to dress their conditions stating that, "CBP remains dominated to ensuring the safe and humane treatment of those within the care of our custody,".

Though the cause of death is unknown and it can't yet be determined whether or not the care of the man under CPB had an impact on his health, the mere questioning of the conditions is enough to encourage the inspection of all detainment facilities not just specific to border control. Jails and prisons also need to be inspected with both physical and mental health taken into account. People deserve to be treated as people no matter what a judge or lawmaker decides. Progress is being made in some parts of the country but to ensure that ALL people are being treated humanely, more people with say in how the country treats those detained at the border and those in prisons need to speak up to ensure that they are doing their part to protect other humans.
