This weekend, after being fired from his job, Gary Martin opened fire on his coworkers. He brought a pistol to his termination meeting and after it was over he went on an hour and a half shooting rampage, Martin killed five people and injured six. Including 5 police officers. Once the police showed up at the scene, a shoot-out occurred where the police ended up killing Gary Martin. This happened in Henry Pratt Co. in Aurora, Illinois. He was targeting the people he worked for for fifteen years. After targeting those people, witnesses say he stormed into the warehouse and began to shoot other coworkers there.
This relates to history because it adds to the long history of gun violence in this country, and the lack of gun control and awareness. The audience is lawmakers and leader of this country, and anyone who wants to know about what horrible things are happening right under our noses. The point of view is CNN, and they weren’t there when it happened, and we will never know exactly what it’s like. The purpose is to inform. This is important because too many people die of gun violence everyday and it is just going to keep happening if we don’t do anything.
