Alabama Omits Civil War Leader Abraham Lincoln from Presidents Day Holiday- Kennedy Hannible

Lets be honest Presidents Day isnt really a holiday at least on the federal level. The holiday is officially know for being George Washington's birthday, and as a time to honor the first president. Most states like to honor not only Washington, but also Lincoln whose birthday fallas on Feb. 12. But not in Alabama. In Alabama this day is designated for Washington and Thomas Jefferson. It is the only state to honor Jerfferson whose birthday is on April 13. This is rooted back to the civil war when the Union forces won the war. All other south states celebrate days like Presidents Day, George Washington Day, and some dont even have a holiday. But none mention Jefferson of Lincoln.
