In the Gulf of Mexico oil has been spilling for nearly 14 years and has now just been brought under attention. Between 300-700 barrels of oil has been spilling out every day since 2004. This mass amount of oil has been spewing from a site about 12 miles from Louisiana. The oil rig is owned by Taylor Energy and was triggered by Hurricane Ivan. This disaster is threatening to overcome BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill which was the largest ever. Trump administration is trying to expand the leases for oil and gas industries. This scares many people because the father rigs are the harder they are to control when disasters arise. The need for more and more plants is ruining the earth and non-renewable resources are becoming more and more scarce every day. This oil spill has destroyed plenty of marine life and has ruined the water surrounding it. The Gulf of Mexico has become a haven for industrial rigs for gas and oil and eventually will be a causing factor to the death and destruction of the earth's ecosystem.

This has been happening since 2004? That is an extraordinary amount of oil leaking into the gulf and destroying the ecosystem. Is anything being done to try and stop this leak or at least assist with cleanup?

No wonder scientists are beginning to theorize that major global warming effects are going to start taking place in 2030. I had no idea that much oil was spilled into the Gulf Coast everyday.
