Camille Cole - The Massacre at the Pittsburgh Synagogue

Summary: Saturday, October 27th a gunman opened fire at a Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This was during a service, and ended up taking the lives of eleven people. The police have now released the identities of the individuals, ranging from age 54 to 97.

Analysis: There have been too many. We as Americans have slowly become desensitized to these things. We see these alerts on our phones about these terrible shootings and then we move on. Years ago, I would’ve spent so much time just thinking about these things, but it’s at the point where its an occurrence that takes place multiple times a week. Eleven people were shot and killed for no reason and yet that’s not the craziest thing that happened this week. That’s the point where we are at. There are things that happen so often that a mass shooting can be “one-upped” within the week. This is why the second amendment must be repealed. The reason that the second amendment was passed was for a local militia, not for private possession.
